About To Give Up

I loved writing on this blog, but now it is just a gamble if it even posts. Pictures... well that has turned out to be about the same chance as the Texas Rangers winning a pennant in my lifetime again.

SO... for Bucs reviews and anticdotes, you can find them on my my space...

www.myspace.com/beaker287

As far as this place is concerned... if anyone from Blogger returns an e-mail to me that's not automated, then we might get this worked out to where I can enjoy Blogging here again (so far, I've sent five e-mails, and not one response in 13 weeks). I know I could always go find another site to blog on, but I would lose everything I've done here in the past. Cut my losses or print my stories, I know....

Anyway, good tidings to all. Keep football close to your heart, and remember, Bucs are God's team. (Should be yours too)

Leah Turner

(pics coming soon... whenever Blogger fixes this problem!)
Ladies and gentlemen... Everyone who knows me knows very well I love my music! For those who don't, I am in two bands, a DJ, and a songwriter. Most of you know about my local hall of fame for musicians as well. Well, folks, please let me introduce to you somebody I am now a huge advocate for. Leah Turner is an aspiring musician/songwriter out of Los Angeles (that's in California, I think?). I made Leah's virtual acquaintance thanks to My Space on the world wide web, have talked to her briefly every now and again, and already know she's good people. I listened to the few tracks she has on her page and immediately fell in love with what I was listening to! I bugged Leah for several weeks to get a CD to me so I can play her music at the show(s) I DJ, and low and behold, it arrived today! There are three more tracks on the disc then there are on her page. People... I am completely impressed!

I would HIGHLY recommend you take a couple of minutes and listen to her stuff. My personal favorite song can be found on her myspace page. It's title is 'Heaven', and here is the address:

Being in two bands, one being original, I completely understand and can appreciate the difficulty of getting your product out there. I am personally very proud of Leah because she seems to be taking the right avenues, etc to promote her music. Amity Road (my original band for those who are under a rock) is taking the same avenues in order to promote our CD (which should be complete by October), so I know how tough it is....

Leah - Congratulations. You have made my music hall of fame, nationally of course, which is NOT an easy thing to do. To you I promise, I will play the living (insert word here) out of this music until I see you on a shelf at Best Buy, Tower and Hastings. If you are not signed by the time AR is done with our CD, then, By God, WE will sign you! (Details later LT)

Folks, it doesn't matter what kind of music you enjoy. I think those of you who like music period and appreciate what goes into a song, would undoubtedly like Leah Turner's music. I call it a three way cross of rock, country and folk. That's hard to pull off, but she does it!

Enjoy!

God Father!!

This is Skylar. She is the recently turned three year old daughter of very good friend, and LONG time friend Tiffany. I first met Skylar when she was 2, and I immediately fell in love with her! I don't recall ever meeting such a young child with such a wonderful personality as hers! Tiffany explained to me that she's a little ham, and she takes to people really well once she gets to know a little bit about them. I was told that Skylar took to me almost immediately! Maybe a child really does have that instinct... In other words, Tiffany and I have known each other so long, that maybe she somehow understood this right away, and was not at all bothered that I wasn't a blood relative!

Skylar and Tiffany live in the fair burg of San Antonio, just a little over 300 miles away. Sure, it's disappointing I don't get to see them as often as I would like, but trips are made both ways, and every little bit of time I get to spend with Skylar and Tiffany are certainly treasured! The last time I went to visit was when fellow band mate and best friend, Steve, and I went to SA to see our friends and fellow musicians in Phantom-X play a concert. I spent the better part of the day with Tiff and Skye, and had the time of my life! The following photo was taken at the premier of Cars. Tiff and I loved the movie so much, it put Skylar to sleep! Or maybe it was the twelve tons of popcorn she shoveled down her throat.... hmmmmm. Who knows? Just kidding... Skylar is pretty well disciplined on what she can and cant eat, how much of it, and what special occasions she can do said pigging out!

Anyway, for Skylar's third birthday, I wanted to do something special for her. Something she certainly wouldn't understand or appreciate until later in life, but nonetheless, special. I arranged to get a college fund opened up in her name, so hopefully she will never have to worry about grants and/or loans later in life. This is something I hope, as well as her mother, will benefit her when she turns 18.

To the point of the title to this blog: Tiffany and I were talking on the phone last week, about Skylar of course, and I mentioned (as I often do) that I wish they lived closer so Skye can have a father figure in her life. By know I'm sure you've figured out that Skye's biological father made the unfortunate choice not to be a part of her life. Well, HIS loss, and let me tell you... Tiffany is one helluva mother, perfectly capable of raising Skye by herself. Thusfar, she has done a terrific job. Back to my point: Tiffany has decided to name me a Godfather to Skylar! I do not have any children, however, I can now feel a sense of the pride and glory a father has once his child is born! I am very proud to have this beautiful young lady as my Goddaughter, and I tell you, all of my readers, that I wont let her down. EVER. Thank you Tiffany for having the faith and trust in me to deliver such honor!

I love you Tiffany and Skylar! I will see you both real soon! ;)

More from the road...

Well, another productive week of work is behind me, but unfortunately, I did not see a whole lot of fun things this week. I managed to grab these four:

This was taken at the tour bus dealership in Arlington, TX. I thought this was the best looking one on the lot. You should see the inside! Dealer would not allow pictures of the interior. This bus will be mine! OH YES! It WILL be mine!

I had a delivery to the Hyatt Regency Reunion, and as I was walking in, I looked up and saw this! I am fascinated by this building. This is Reunion Tower, and the "ball" at the top houses a number of things, including an upscale restaurant and an observation deck. Don't like the view you have? Wait a minute and it will change. The top rotates!

Taken going NB on the Dallas North Tollway. Yummy.

Painted on the side of a rehearsal studio near 635 and 75 area of Dallas. Beautiful painting! RIP My brothers of Rock & Roll.

Until next time.....

Austin City Limits

OK, Steve, Debbie and I went down to to San Antonio to watch our friends in Phantom-X over the weekend of June 10th. These pictures were taken on the way back from San Antonio, moving at about 75 MPH. I am very surprised they turned out so nice!

Steve thought this building was really cool looking, so here's the pic. I tend to agree with him. It is pretty kick ass!

I like this one for the simple fact that the trees are offering some sort of interference. It looks good to me!

Ahhh.... Texas Our Texas. I know some of you readers are not from here, and prefer to be somewhere else. All I can say is.... be sure to send a postcard!

OK, so I have a hundered pictures of this sign, and the one on the other side of the highway. What's one more, right?
I cant imagine any of my readers not knowing why in the hell I snapped this picture. For the few of you who may not:
Amity Road is the name of my band, and represents everything obtained within my life long goals. My entertainment company is 287 Productions for this reason as well.

Until next time.....

More Road

OK, there was an article in the Dallas paper a few weeks ago about Dallas city workers caught drinking on the job. Hmmm... I have no doubts now:

This (for those of you not from Dallas) was near the intersection of Walnut Hill and SH75, aka CENTRAL.

Lean a little left, then read. It may be the same guy who made previous street sign!

AAC taken from 40th floor of Chase Building on Ross Ave.

Taken, also, from the Chase Building

Looking south from same building. If you look closely, you can find my camera!

Looking West from same building. If you look closely, you can see Don Henley!

More Of the Road

OK, here's some more pics taken over the last couple of weeks. I have some new ones from last week and today, that I will post tomorrow and Wednesday. These next four are taken from the 46th floor of the building located at 302 N. St. Paul St

Here's a bird coming into Love Field. I am sitting on Northwest Highway in this pic.

See you tomorrow!
