Week Two

The Bucs will host the Bills this Sunday, playing only their eighth game together. The Bucs currently lead the series 5-2. This seems somewhat flip flopped in the favor of the Bucs, because of the seven games played against each other, all seven (including tomorrow's number eight) were all played in Tampa. What would happen if the Bucs played in Buffalo? Would they fall back to their curse of not being able to win a game in cold weather? I dunno... It didn't seem to matter last week in Minnesota. Dome or conditioned air, open weather, whatever... If the outside temperature was below 40 degrees... The Bucs didn't win.

The Bills bring quite the talented squad with them this year. JP Losman had a good week last week against Houston. DE Aaron Schobel had more than 60 tackles last year, 8 sacks, caused five fumbles and devoured three of them. WR Lee Evans has more than likely found himself and thousands of fantasy football teams this year, considering last years performance in his rookie debut. Corner, Terrence McGee, is also someone to look out for. He's small, which makes him very quick, and virtually unstoppable in blocking schemes. When he wants the ball, he goes after it. Not to mention, he's a damn good kick returner, taking three to the hole last season for the Bills. Guard Chris Villareal is another threat to look out for, however he may not be playing this week anyway. We;ll keep an eye on the injury report and see what happens. Finally, Safety Lawyer Milloy. Need I say anything? 108 tackles last year. Four sacks, Two interceptions. Not bad for a four time pro bowler huh?? Still, even with key players, every team has problems. The Texans had a REAL hard time trying to get through the Bills defense last week. I don't think the Bucs will have quite the hard time.

New on offense is Carnell Williams, aka Cadillac. He is short and squawky, and is tougher than nails. He rushed for 148 yards, including a 71 yard TD run. Alex Smith, rookie receiver, had 2 touchdowns. Brian Griese did well, as well as the rest of the Bucs squad. The defense held the Vikes to only 26 rushing yards on the ground, and a total of 248 yards all together ("A TOTAL OF 248 YARDS".. ::ahem:: Airplane junkies will appreciate that). ANYWAY... All said and done, I think the Bucs will have a harder time achieving victory over the Bills than did the Vikings. Bucs lead the series, Bucs are playing at home. Bucs are on fire right now! Bills have a good defense, good offense...... It's gonna be a good game!

My prediction:
Bucs 21, Bills 17

I'll write about college tomorrow, if I'm not to damn wasted after the Bucs game ;)
